Home Plan - [22-1195]

Architectural Style: Colonial Farmhouse with Shingle Style Influence

This home combines elements from both Colonial Farmhouse and Shingle Style architectural styles.

Colonial Farmhouse Features

  • Gable roof: The house features a gable roof with two sloping sides that meet at a ridge at the top. This is a common roof style in Colonial homes. The 2D AutoCAD drawing depicts a gable roof on the house.
  • Double-hung windows: The house has double-hung windows, which are windows with two sashes that slide up and down. Double-hung windows were a common feature in early homes, including Colonial Farmhouse style homes. The house in the image has double-hung windows.
  • Symmetrical facade (likely): While the layout cannot be confirmed from the 2D CAD drawing, Colonial Farmhouses typically have symmetrical facades, with the windows positioned almost mirroring each other on either side of the central entryway. The house in the image has a symmetrical facade.
  • Center-hall layout (likely): While the layout cannot be confirmed from the image, Colonial Farmhouses tend to have center-hall layouts, with rooms flanking a central hallway.

Shingle Style Influence

  • Shingle siding: The house appears to have shingle siding, a common feature in Shingle Style architecture. The 2D CAD drawing shows a pattern of diagonal lines on the exterior walls, which suggests shingle siding.
  • Large window on the left side: The house has a large window on the left side that extends from near the foundation to the roofline. Large windows with a focus on horizontality are a characteristic feature of the Shingle Style.

Overall, the gable roof, double-hung windows, symmetrical facade (likely), center-hall layout (likely), shingle siding, and large window on the left side are all indicators that the house incorporates both Colonial Farmhouse and Shingle Style features. Thus, the house can be classified as a Colonial Farmhouse with Shingle Style Influence style home based on the information available in the 2D AutoCAD drawing.
